Flemish schools find their way to BME Genk

We first came into contact with Flemish education at the end of last year. Teacher Jeroen Wouters from Genk's Regina Mundi was looking for an e-commerce company at the time. And preferably one that offered everything under one roof. A place where he could show his 7th year Business Support students not only theory but also the ins and outs of the business in practice.

Because we love to help and, after all, these are the workers of the future, Chris crawled into the role of tour guide "slash" teacher one November morning.

This was the beginning of a fruitful interaction between BME and the Flemish schools. Because a few months later, Glenn, Seyma and Emre are helping out regularly. Seyma does so every Tuesday until the end of June. Emre on Thursdays and Fridays. They are both studying Logistics at Regina Mundi to prepare for a job as a logistician.

While they mainly cooperate in the warehouse, Glenn lends a hand at the desk. Glenn is a final-year project and event management student at UCLL Leuven. He is doing a 10-week internship until May 27, helping to roll out several new internal projects. He also lends a hand in administration and catches peak moments.

This kind of collaboration is good for each party - that much is clear. For schools, practice feedback is interesting. Because they get a better idea of what knowledge should definitely be included in the future. The same is certainly true for "all things e-commerce," because it is still a fairly recent sector. And along the other side, we are working with our employees of the future. Win-win.
