BME as an extension of wholesale diet food business

Ligna Pharma, a dietary food wholesaler, was looking for a logistics partner to focus on their customers. They saw logistical processing as an external extension of their story. The main reason for not doing it internally was that, as an organization, they wanted to work primarily with a small team to increase their customer satisfaction.

It was important that their logistics partner would absolutely contribute to their customer satisfaction. Ligna Pharma's main requirements that Ligna Pharma placed on their logistics partner were:

• Transparent inventory management and order processing
• The customer should be able to choose which transport company to be delivered by
• Access to all information to correctly inform their customers
• An integration that automates all processes
• Flexible ordering process for their customers
• Clear packaging instructions for their diverse product range

With these questions BME set to work

Together with Ligna Pharma, we started the development of a B2B web shop. We linked this Magento web shop to our warehouse software (WMS) to meet Ligna Pharma's main requirements:

• Through a personal portal, Ligna Pharma has a clear overview of its inventory and the status of its orders.
• Customers can choose their own courier service and thus the way they receive their orders.
• Ligna Pharma can then use this information to keep its customers accurately informed of their orders.
• Products are divided into product categories, so certain items are always packaged separately to minimize damage upon delivery.

All this led to Ligna Pharma being able to execute its personalized approach and they also saw an increase in customer satisfaction. It also allows them to leverage the fast processes and flexibility behind e-commerce and e-fulfilment in a B2B environment.

Importantly, this result is not an end point, but rather Ligna Pharma and BME working together to further enhance their customers' experience. The dialogue between the customer and BME is central to this. In this way, together we can better understand the customer's needs and develop logistics solutions that meet them.
